I reached my 200th PB class a few days ago! I am still just as obsessed as when I started. I feel so guilty for missing class. I still get sore. I still shake. I still feel very accomplished after class.
Pure Barre Dayton (my home studio) choose my Mom and I as their February Pure Barre Champions. We are up on the bathroom wall with a few of our thoughts!
To keep things interesting the studio’s change up the warm-up/arm exercises every 3 months or so. Once I finally get good at the last warm-up they go and change it! I am still using 3lb weights but boy is it tough! If you are new I really recommend to start using 2lbs. Big difference in that one pound! The studio recently got 5lbs weights in and I am staying far away, for now.
Thigh exercises are getting tougher always. I think thighs will always be my hardest. My legs just hurt!!
We have also started using what we (clients) call “torture bands”. Remember double tube? Well they are even worse than that. They correct term of “Velcro bands” does not do it any justice.
(I had to search high and low for this picture. They must want to keep the torture a surprise). So we (can) use these horrible things for everything but warm-up and arm exercises. Even though when using these in thighs, seat and abs your arms are working HARD!
I have noticed the most change in my seat (butt). It is more lifted and sculpted. My abs have really started to get stronger. I just need to stop eating for my 6 pack to appear! 🙂

I hit my 100th class today at Pure Barre! Funny thing is, so did my mom!
I am even more addicted now than I have been. I will always recommend Pure Barre to anyone and everyone!

I don’t always make a protein shake after working out but this one I wish I could drink all day long. It is that good.
I found this recipe from Tenley Molzahn’s website “Sweet and Free Life”. (Tenley is from the Bachelor Franchise on ABC).
The Peanut Butter Protein Shake is easy to make and it tastes so good.
Give it a try after your next workout!
Peanut Butter Protein Shake
• 1 scoop of Chocolate Whey Protein (Can use vanilla/dark chocolate or another flavor if wanted)
• 1/2 cup Almond Milk
• 2 tbsp. Peanut Butter
• 1/2 cup of ice
Blend all ingredients.
1 serving. Drink after your workout only.

Well we are officially halfway through our 20 class challenge. The challenge is to complete 20 classes in the month of May. As of May 15 I have done 11 classes which means I am ahead of schedule! If I stick to my normal class scheduled days then I have the potential to complete 22 classes this month. I really don’t know if my legs can handle that.
My poor legs hurt all the time!
Pure Barre is unlike any other workout I have ever done! It is so challenging but yet doesn’t look challenging at all. It is the smallest of movements that focus so strongly on those specific muscles (arms, butt, legs and abs) in which your mind body connection has to be strong.
I have become addicted. I look forward to going to class and giving it my all. I have noticed changes in my body and I think that is a huge motivation! My seat (butt) is lifted, my arms are sculpted and my stomach is looking flatter. I can’t wait to see the results after I complete all my classes this month. I plan to continue the 5/6 days a week into June so that I look even better for our summer trip to Kiawah. Maybe I will even get brave enough to post a picture of me in a bathing suit in June. I plan on looking like Gisele (Bundchen) haha
If this is a cookie, I really want to eat it. I can eat it while tucking if that makes it any better.
