After all the work formalities, I read the same blogs that I read everyday. I thought I would share them so you all can follow them as well!

I have been friends with Brianna since middle school! We have grown up together and I talked her into blogging and I enjoy reading her blog.

Bri and I

Brianna and her husband Judd go on some of the coolest trips. If you need help planning or want to see where they have been please visit her blog! She has some great tips for traveling! The Adventures of the Steele Family

I really look forward to reading Little Baby Garvin. Jessica is so fun and crafty. Her 3 girls are just adorable! Follow Little Baby Garvin for all things crafts and kids!

Mommas Gone City post the best pictures of her adorable 4 kids. I started following her after her #TheoandBeau took off! Now her youngest, Evvie takes naps with Theo and it is equally as cute!

Every morning I can’t wait to read Mix and Match Mama. Shay Shull is the sister of former bachelor, Sean Lowe. Her blog is so fun. She has the cutest kids, the best recipes and giveaways! I ALWAYS love her “favorite” things. Definitely check her out if you have fertility issues, adoption questions or need ideas for dinner! (She has two cookbooks out now!

My newest blog I follow is one of M&MM best friends! I am so glad I started following Momfessionals. Andrea is so amazing. She is a teacher and has 3 kids. She may have the best craft ideas for your little ones.

Please check out all these blogs. They are all amazing and I cant make it through a morning without checking them all out!

Cortney’s Baby Shower

Sorry I am just now posting this!

I hosted (along with my Mom) Cortney’s baby shower at the end of January. She is due 2.25.2016.

Like I said before, I used pinterest for inspiration for the shower. I didn’t set out planning a theme or around a certain theme but when it all came together it seems “It’s a Boy!” was a common occurrence. (I am going to be very mad if the baby turns out to be a girl, haha).

BS2

I made the invitations on shutterfly and included a taped piece of paper to each one that read;

“One small request that shouldn’t be too hard,

please bring a book instead of a card.

Weather Cat in the Hat or Winnie the Pooh,

You can sign the inside with a note from you.”

BS4

This a fun way to build the babies book collection and you can also read the notes to the child as they get older!

Cookies, cupcakes and some cute Hershey kisses!

BS6BS5

For the party favors I found these bags at Party City along with the Hershey kisses. I bought the hand sanitizers at Bath and Body works. The M&M’s and dumb dumbs were at Party city and I got the cute idea from Pinterest. (I don’t see any of these items on their website)

We had 1 game and 2 activities. The first was “Guess the poop”. I melted 9 candy bars into 9 different diapers. Let me tell you this is not easy to do. I burned all my fingers and it is time consuming. I put one candy bar per plate, melted it (about 30 seconds but every candy was different) and then scooped it into a diaper that I had already numbered. Have paper and pens for all quests.

Someone had told me about a cute idea of having diapers out and everyone can write a note on them. I bought a cute basket from Home Goods and labeled it. Example and the idea here!

BS9

Everyone wrote cute, funny and inappropriate notes on the diapers for Mom and Dad. So maybe the middle of the night diaper changes will be a little bit better! These turned out very cute and it easy to do.

Lastly, Cortney’s mom had found this and printed of 26 pieces of paper (one for each letter of the alphabet). BS10

They will have the letter on top along with a line and the bottom has “Illustrated by”. You pick a letter and draw something! Example, A is for Apple, B is for ball. We collected them all and will make them into a baby book!

Everything was a lot of fun but I am ready for baby Morris to arrive!

I’m Back

It has been two years since my last post. I figured it would be a perfect time to come back.

My last post was 2 years ago this March. It was Cortney’s bridal shower in preparation for her March 22nd wedding. This is the perfect time to pick back up because this past Sunday I threw her her 1st baby shower! Yes, almost 2 years after her wedding here I am throwing her a baby shower. Baby M is due 2.25.2016! Its a boy and I can’t wait.

I will post pictures from the shower tomorrow but here is the link to my pinterest board where I took most my ideas from!

Oh, and I bought a house. Quickly learning what “being a homeowner” really means! Closed on this beauty 5.1.2014.

Cortneys Bridal Shower

I threw Cortney a bridal shower today!

We live in Ohio and what do you know there was a massive snow storm that came through. Not everyone was able to make it to the shower but we still had a nice turn out.

I wanted to share what we did for it!

Here is my pinterest page. I used pinterest for my inspiration for everything. Check under my “Cortney’s Bridal Shower Board”.

Got this idea from Pinterest and figured we could do it ourselves instead of ordering it. And it came out perfect! How yummy.

We choose strawberry cupcakes with a strawberry icing. I will upload that recipe asap! We also just bought a black cardboard piece to keep them on.

We played two games. Very simple yet fun for all! The “He Said/She Said” game was a downloadable link from Pinterest!

For the winners of the game I ordered very cute lip balms from gcd spa.

Finally, for the party favor we choose to make Carmel Popcorn. My Mom found these adorable Chinese boxes on clearance at Target and we knew they would be perfect!

Ricochet, The surfing dog

I watch a lot of Sportscenter. I enjoy all things sports. Always have.

Yesterday I saw the most amazing “SC: Moving Forward” segment featuring the Surfing Dog, Ricochet.

I cried. A lot. I love dogs and I do not understand people who don’t. Dogs become part of your family. They are so special and can do amazing things. Like Ricochet.

Ricochet showed promise as a puppy to be a well trained service dog for people with disabilities. Around 16 months, that all changed. She stopped responding to training. She loved the water and had a lot of energy. The one thing she did have was balance. She got a surfboard and never looked back.

She now helps people with disabilities get back in the water and on a surfboard with her behind them.

Please watch this story and have tissues close by. So amazing. So touching. So inspirational.

Thank you ESPN/Sportscenter for this great story.
